Cat Pregnancy Calculator
Build a dated nine-week cat pregnancy timeline, or organize visible signs into a cautious broad stage when the mating date is unknown.
Choose what you know
A known mating date creates a dated plan. Visible signs can only suggest a broad stage and cannot confirm pregnancy.
What may change, and what to do next.
Enter a mating date for calendar dates, or choose visible observations to highlight a broad possible stage.
- Days 0–6
Usually too early to see
Visible changes are unlikely, and mating does not guarantee pregnancy.
Care actionRecord any known mating dates and keep normal routines steady.
- Days 7–13
Home signs remain unreliable
Most cats still show no dependable outward pregnancy signs.
Care actionAvoid starting supplements or medications without veterinary guidance.
- Days 14–20
Early visible clues may begin
Nipples may look pinker or more prominent, but this is not proof of pregnancy.
Care actionPlan a veterinary confirmation visit instead of checking the abdomen yourself.
- Days 21–27
A useful confirmation window
A veterinarian may be able to confirm pregnancy by examination or ultrasound.
Care actionAsk about pregnancy confirmation, health screening, and a feeding plan.
- Days 28–34
Growth begins to show
Appetite and body shape may start changing, though individual cats vary.
Care actionDiscuss a complete kitten or growth diet; do not add calcium on your own.
- Days 35–41
The abdomen may look fuller
A more rounded abdomen and gradual weight gain may become noticeable.
Care actionKeep her indoors, reduce exposure to unfamiliar cats, and monitor appetite and energy.
- Days 42–48
Late-pregnancy planning
Fetal skeletons are becoming visible on radiographs, and body changes are clearer.
Care actionAsk your veterinarian whether late-pregnancy imaging or litter-size planning is appropriate.
- Days 49–55
Prepare a quiet nest
Visible movement or nesting behavior may appear during the later weeks.
Care actionSet up a warm, private, observable nesting area and save emergency vet details.
- Days 56–67
The due window approaches
Labor may be near, but timing varies and the breeding date may not equal conception date.
Care actionObserve calmly, know the urgent warning signs, and contact a veterinarian if the expected window passes.
Was this result useful?
Scope and limits.
Can visible signs tell me exactly how far along a cat is?
No. Visible signs overlap, appear at different times, and can have causes other than pregnancy. The unknown-date mode only suggests a broad possible stage with low confidence.
What due window does it use?
It uses a broad 60 to 67 day window and highlights the common 63 to 65 day average range.
Can this tool confirm pregnancy or count kittens?
No. Pregnancy, fetal viability, gestational age, and litter size need veterinary examination or imaging.
What should I do if I see a warning sign?
Fresh or heavy bleeding, dark discharge before the first kitten, collapse, labored breathing, severe distress, strong straining without progress, or a stuck kitten needs urgent veterinary help.
Use the result as a care note, not a diagnosis.
Cat & Meow tools use deterministic rules and plain-language limits. Health-adjacent tools are for organizing observations before veterinary advice, not replacing it.
